Concert(s) Review
Sorry everyone, I know you have all been dying for a second blog. But here it is. Hopefully I’ll find the time to start blogging more regularly. Soo I went to a Metro Station concert last night. Yes, I know. I didn’t go for the band, but to go with my friends and have fun. The openers were: Cash Cash, The White Tie Affair, and Tyga. I had no idea why a rapper was opening for an electro/alternative band…but he sucked anyways. Cash Cash and TWTA were very entertaining and fun to watch. While Tyga was onstage, we went downstairs and met Cash Cash and TWTA. That was pretty cool. The crowd flipped when Metro Station came on and the crowds excitement was contagious. We all rocked out to their songs and had a blast. They left before they played their most popular song, Shake It. Once again, the crowd flipped. And not out of excitement this time, but out of disbelief. I, of course, knew what they were doing. Bands do this all the time: leave and pump up the crowd to demand an encore. The crowd screamed nonstop for about 5 minutes until, finally, Metro Station reappeared to sing two more songs (one of which was Shake It). They were very good performers and sounded great live. So even though I didn’t really like the band, I still had a great time and have much more respect for their music now.
While I’m talking about concerts, I’ll just talk about some of the other concerts I’ve attended. Last June, I went to a Kanye West concert. Now THAT was a good concert. It was part of his Glow In The Dark tour. The concert was a real show, not just stage with a performer. There was a story; Kanye West narrated it. Each song was a part of the story: Kanye’s journey through space and back to Earth. His spaceship crashes on an unknown planet and he must find his way back to Earth. The stage was phenomenal. The background was a screen with moving stars and planets, as if you were flying through space. The whole stadium was pitch black with the stage lit up in the middle. I can’t even describe it well. Just trust me, it was awesome. He was onstage for 2.5 hours! And I loved every minute of it. At the end of the concert, he gave a speech. He talked about how he was going to be the greatest artist in the world. And I quote, “It’s time for a change. I’m going to be better than The Beatles. And for everyone who is thinking, ‘how can he say that?’ well why not? I can and I will.” He spoke out against everyone who says he’s cocky and only cares about himself. He said, “I feel my confidence + someone’s low self-esteem = my arrogance”. I liked that; I think it’s a good definition of arrogance. Kanye West gave a great performance and kept the crowd pumped til 1am. I definitely recommend going to a Kanye West concert. It’ll be one you’ll never forget. I know I won’t. Oh I almost forgot! The openers were great as well: Lupe Fiasco, Rihanna, and N.E.R.D.
Now, Rebelution. I’ve been to…3 Rebelution concerts now. You ask why? Well for one, their concerts are all fun, low key, and filled with great music. I love the atmosphere of reggae concerts (…not the cloud of smoke filling the room). Well actually, maybe that’s what makes them so great. Everyone is chill, just having fun and enjoying the music. I love how low key they are. I’ve seen Rebelution at the local theatres, so it’s never overcrowded. Yes, the theatre is packed, but it’s not like a huge stadium. You feel more connected and Rebelution is very down to earth. They don’t need a decked out stage or cool special effects. They just “keep it real” with the music. Also, there is always good openers: The Expendables, Iration, Top Shelf, etc.
I’ve also been to: Third Eye Blind and Slighty Stoopid. All amazing.
If you couldn’t already tell, I love concerts. They are always fun and music always sounds better live. There’s something so exciting about seeing singers/groups you love in person; it’s indescribable.

I also went to a Metro Station concert while they were on tour. I wnet to the one in Dallas. I went just becouse I like their music, I felt kinda funny though being a 34 year old woman going to a electro/alternative band. All was good though no one seamed to really notice the “old Lady” in the crowd. Cash Cash and TWTA were very good, and got everyone pumped up, I also totally didn’t get why TYGA was there and he sucked! If it wernt for Merto Station a lot of people would have left at that point. What a wast of time having to listen to him. Metro came on and were great, they are talented and very good live. I plan on seeing them when they come around again. Let’s just hope TYGA is not with them. That just made no sence to me at all to have a rapper with electro bands?????? Someone wasn’t thinking to clearly if you ask me. Lol. Thank you for you blog, and for letting me know that I wasn’t the only one going WTF??????????
